Fwiffo's Survival[edit]

There will be a decision once and for all if anything said by TFB about a new game in development should be considered canon or not.

Productions can change wildly over the course of development, and just because something is true today does not mean that it won't be changed down the road. There is no way of knowing exactly what is going to be and what is going to stay in the game until the game is released.

If a politician makes claims while running for office to lower taxes, eliminate poverty and half the unemployment rate, when that person is elected do we go to Wikipedia and state "There will be lower taxes, no more poverty and half the unemployment rate"? Of course not! We can't predict the future, and we have to see if this person lives up to their claims. This is the same way with TFB. Sure, they are *the* source for Star Control information, but they're human and may choose to change this part of the plot before the game is released.

However, Valaggar is going to insist on claiming this is canon unless we decide here and now. --24.117.122.78 16:19, 6 July 2007 (CEST)

The last line is completely wrong. If I understand you well, I think you and I are (almost) on the same side - "revelations" made in IRC channels may change, no matter whether it's about Fwiffo or anything else.
What differs is that I say that whatever they've said it's canon for now, even if it may change. For example, that the Ur-Quan Slave War took place in the 27th century was canonical in SC1, but became non-canonical in SC2.
So you are saying that whenever we are faced with "IRC revelations" we should say "may become part of the canon", but I'm saying that we should say "is canon". Valaggar 17:39, 6 July 2007 (CEST)

Fwiffo Image[edit]

I'm just curious ... why don't we have a nice picture of Fwiffo on this page? Also, shouldn't the Spathi Ruling Council be the image on the Spathi page? Has this been discussed before? I'm being a little lazy about checking the history of this and the Spathi page. For some reason, I feel like this was discussed in depth two years ago. --PsiPhi 22:38, 18 October 2007 (CEST)

My guess is that this is because the communication image used for Fwiffo is the same one used for the anonymous Fwiffo captain encountered in space. The caption on the image on the Spathi page should probably be adjusted then. Of course there's nothing against using the comm image on both pages (here and Spathi). The only Fwiffo unique image is probably of his Eluder parked on Pluto's surface. On a related note, there is one set of images that we haven't as of yet added - the captain images used during melee. These would fit on either the race or ship pages imo. But again, even this image (should you choose to fight Fwiffo) is not unique to him. --Fyzixfighter 02:39, 19 October 2007 (CEST)
