The Antimatter Thrusters, also known as Fusion Thrusters, increase The Flagship's acceleration and top speed, which allows for faster travel through HyperSpace and provides for easier escape from pursuers. On The Flagship, there are slots for 11 pairs of thrusters; for each pair of thrusters, the ship's maximum velocity rating increases by eight units (as displayed on the outfit screen of the Earth Starbase; these units are not the same units used to measure the other ships' speeds in Super Melee). The thrusters cost 500 RU per pair.
