A cheap tactic, a fact, but it works. Although only medium to long range ships with a high fire rate can try it, it usually works aganst short range opponents.

Pillboxing is a very simple tactic - once in battle a moving ship can hit a planet, if is unlucky, or be a victim of the relativity effect - two ships speeding with the same velocity will have different weapon ranges - the leader has his range boosted, the second ship's shots are slowed down and thus range lowered. Medium to high speed ships like the Terminator can use a gravity whip to suprise the opponent by tearing him apart flying at high speeds. Overall, moving is dangerous.

Pillboxing is about not moving, and shooting when the enemy is near. When the player is a safe distance from a planet, he cannot be suprised. The Utwig Jugger is a great example of a pillbox ship. A small and light ship like the Pkunk Fury must suprise the player so he can get close enough to damage the ship. The Utwig doesn't have to care about his battery ending, so he can sit there and wait till the obviously annoyed pkunk tries to fly in range. Which ends 95% of the time with the suicidal death of the pkunk.

Jugger is the ship for a pillbox, although a supox might work as well, not as good though. The Androsynth Guardian, little blue garbage can form, can work nicely, but a Kohr-Ah is a damn fine ship as well.

What's strange though is that no Orz is a *camper*
