I've so far made a point of eliminating all ship-specific tactics, but there is one that's worth keeping. It's almost universally accepted that the Pkunk Fury is the best ship to use against the Sa-Matra, yet any mention of the Sa-Matra on this page is a bit of a spoiler. I want to remove these tactics and put them up on another page. Where would be the best place? --Shiver 17:30, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

I wouldn't worry about being a bit spoiler-ish. The warning on the main page is very clear that most articles contain spoilers. I'd say leave the Fury/Sa-Matra matchup information here. The reason for removing the ship-specific tactics, as I recall, was because it was highly dependent on the opponent - some of them were written as if going up against the computer and other as if going against a live person of unknown competence. With the Sa-Matra, that really doesn't come into play since there is never a possibility of a player-controlled Sa-Matra (now that would a interesting mod). Given that, and that it's highly likely that the player will get a number of Furies before the battle, and that (like you said) it is pretty universally accepted, I'd say we can ignore the taboo on ship-specific tactics in this instance with respect to the Sa-Matra. We could move the info to the Sa-Matra page, but it would be extremely awkward and out of place there; IMO this page is the best place for this info. --Fyzixfighter 03:53, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Is there a better way to sort out this Tactical Overview info? It looks cluttered and ugly the way it is. --Shiver 21:48, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

The Fury and the Sa-Matra

It struck me as odd that the Pkunk of all people would have the ship most perfect for taking out the Sa-Matra's defenses. It's just weird. But then I thought about the Pkunk's psychic abilities, and it comes into perfect view -- they knew on some subconscious level, that this was the necessary design.

Just a headcanon of mine. --Aescula (talk) 01:58, 23 September 2013 (CEST)
