Early Druuge history bears a close resemblance to early [[Human]] history. Still, as in the case of [[Syreen]] civilization, minor differences in early social structures have produced a vastly different culture. Similar to Humans, Druuge evolved from primitive hunter-gathers. However, these primitive Druuge remained solitary and never organized themselves into mutually beneficial tribes, thus fostering a greater emphasis on the individual and a greater concern for personal well-being not completely unlike the [[Ur-Quan]].

Despite their strong, innate individual tendencies, the Druuge created a working civilization. This early society included some form of government, including laws regarding the economy and the interactions of commercial entities. Sometime after their transition to the status of a space-faring race, the Druuge significantly changed their trade laws so that they no longer discouraged the formation of monopolies. Due to this legal relaxation, a single business, the Crimson Corporation, was able to rise to prominence inevitably becoming the only existing Druuge business and the legal owner of everything Druuge. Not only a business, it also operates as the government of the entire Druuge race. All known interactions with the Druuge by other races have been while the Crimson Corporation has been in power.

In recent years, the Druuge have had encounters with a few other races, initially with the [[Burvixese]] and most notably with the [[Utwig]]. Years before the events surrounding the [[Second War]], the Druuge learned through their neighbors, the Burvixese, about the Utwig and the [[Precursor Bomb]] they possessed. The Druuge initiated contact with the Utwig and offered them the [[Ultron]] with the intention of obtaining the powerful bomb, but instead received "a hodge-podge of ancient and useless artifacts." The Utwig maintain that this exchange will fundamentally change the Druuge as a race, culminating on a specific day in a momentous event of jubilation. The Druuge also had a long history of interactions with the Burvixese, ultimately having a direct hand in their destruction; They placed a powerful [[Burvixese HyperWave Broadcaster|HyperWave 'Caster]] on the Burvixese moon to purposely distract the [[Kohr-Ah]] away from the central Druuge trade world at Zeta Persei. During the Second War [[The Captain]] has several encounters (not all amicable) with the Druuge including one in which he prevents them from obtaining the Utwig Bomb the second time.

Lacking the "traditional" sense of community, every aspect of Druuge culture can be traced back to their higher level of individualization. A Druuge only finds it useful cooperate with other beings so far as it benefits himself. Selfless concepts like honor and charity do not exist in their culture. Similar to their individual solitary nature, the Druuge as a race are also reluctant to venture outside of their sphere of influence.

Once an acceptable business partner is found, both parties proceed through the business arrangements — negotiating the terms of agreement, filling out the appropriate forms, and engaging it the necessary carnal interactions. Offspring from such a union are automatically part of the venture with terms that ensure the parents a 12-18% royalty on the offspring's income. It is therefore typical for a parent to allocate a significant amount funds for the education and training of any offspring to increase the rate of return on their investment.

Life in the Crimson Corporation is typical: there are good times, when benefit packages and bonuses improve and bad times, when the corporation has to lay off some employees. Only, if you're out of job, you're out of luck. Because everything on Druuge worlds is corporation property, every ex-employee is instantly trespassing and guilty of stealing corporation property, like air and sunlight. The only suitable punishment in Druuge laws for that is to feed the [[Furnace]].

By their own words they are merchants, but a word like "slave-trader" would suit them more. These silver-tongued devils always try to get alien captains to exchange their crew for fuel, "priceless Alien-artifacts" and [[Mauler]] starships. In these trades the Druuge always cheat and lie to their heart's content, anything to maximize their profit, but they might get hostile very fast if they feel they have been taken advantage of in a deal.

Druuge starship bridges are a disturbing sight to behold as even the captains are in slave cloths and bound to chains. The crew (especially the unfortunate exchanged alien crew) are used as a living cannon fodder in battle when the ship needs more energy. They are ruthlessly thrown into the furnace for a bit of extra man-power.

The Druuge have a law stating that any unarmed ship without escort (no attack ships), is susceptible to salvage. This means that if the Druuge encounter an unarmed and unescorted ship (e.g. yours), they will attack immediately.

==Relations with other races==
===Burvixese===
The Druuge had a long-term trade relationship with the [[Burvixese]] initially, the profitability of which was assumably poor, due to the Druuge's later scheme involving them. The Burvixese were quite friendly with the Druuge, and not only facilitated communications and trading between the Druuge and [[Utwig]], but warned the Druuge of the approaching [[Kohr-ah]] after they had in turn been warned by the [[Gg]].

Unfortunatley, the friendship was not mutual and the Druuge, looking to save their own hides, constructed a [[Hyperwave Caster]] on the surface of the Burvixese moon in a successful attempt to deflect the Kohr-ah away from themselves and onto the Burvixese instead. The Burvixese were rendered extinct by the Kohr-ah in 2142 as a direct result of this act.

===Utwig===
The Druuge had a brief encounter with the [[Utwig]] race, after learning from the [[Burvixese]] that the Utwig had discovered a [[Utwig Bomb|Precursor bomb]] on their recent explorations. The Druuge attempted to sell the [[Ultron]] to the Utwig in return for the bomb, believing the Ultron to be useless junk. However, the trade turned sour when the Ultron seemingly empowered the Utwig with clairovoyance, and the Druuge had to leave with a hodge-podge of useless artifacts, lest they spoil the ruse.

While the Utwig to this day see the Druuge as benevolent, this is far from mutual as the Druuge see the Utwig as little more than prancing, whining and naive fools apt only for taking advantage of.

===Humans===
When The Captain first encountered the Druuge in space, they immediatley extended a friendly offer to visit their Central Trade World of [[Zeta Persei I]], to form a profitable trading relationship. Upon visiting, The Captain was horrified to find out that the Druuge economy amounts to little more than slave trading (though the Druuge voiciferously deny such accusations). The Captain managed to obtain the [[Rosy Sphere]] through trade (either selling his crew away as slaves, or finding an item the Druuge desire to have instead), and eventually used it to repair the [[Utwig|Utwig's]] [[Ultron]].

However, when The Captain attempted to retrieve the Utwig's reward of the Precursor Bomb from Zeta Hyades VIb, the Druuge had already blockaded the planet in an attempt to retrieve it for themselves. In the following altercation, the Druuge entered The Captain's "true name" into their Ledger of Hatred, and from then on all Druuge were hostile towards The Captain. It is not known if this attitude is extended to all humans.

===Melnorme===
The Druuge seem to hate the [[Melnorme]] with a passion, as they informed [[The Captain]] (and presumably, any other travellers) of the Melnorme's existance and attempted to paint them in a quite unfavourable light, decrying their information trade as "charging fees for common knowledge", and mocking their fuel prices. They even go as far as to encourage The Captain to destroy Melnorme vessels, as the resources that can be gained from plundering a wrecked [[Trader]] vessel are spectacular; it should be noted that this is false, a single Melnorme wreck being equivalent to 450 Earthling Resource Units.

The Melnorme feel the same way about the Druuge, and for the usual fee will warn The Captain against interacting with the Druuge, claiming they levy hidden costs and secret tariffs on their wares. However, the Melnorme are more civil in their exposition and do not encourage violence against the Druuge.

What is the status of the data on this page? Can it all be copied over the main wikipedia due to being free license or is it different to normal wikipedia?
:I would think the folks over at Wikipedia would probably truncate or reject some of our more indepth articles, the logic being that we're the indepth SC2 wiki, and they're the not-so-indepth everything wiki. :It was a very aggressive spammer. He spammed each page with a different user created especially for that purpose. It was easier for me to revert this by first assigning all these edits to a single user.
:As for why he would do this? Seems he's just unscrupulous and clueless. All external links are marked with "rel=nofollow", so search engines don't index them, and even if they would, lots of links from a single site aren't going to count more heavilly. And we don't have public access logs, so it's not going to count there either. He'll only make the spam defence more aggressive.

The [[Utwig]] '''Grand Proctor''' is presumably the leader of the Utwig race, or at least has a powerful influence in various matters. It is not known whether the High Proctor referred to by the Utwig (and in their anecdotes, the [[Druuge]]) is one and the same as the Grand Proctor, or a different rank entirely. A recent Grand Proctor was involved in what the Utwig have collectivley named the Great Sin - during the Chinz-Rahl celebration, the Grand Proctor attempted to pass the [[Ultron]] to the [[Chief Groo]], only to see the Chief Groo accidentally fumble the Ultron, resulting in it falling to the ground and breaking, incapacitating the entire Utwig race with a mournful depression.

It is not known what exactly the Chief Groo does, but the Utwig have mentioned the title before when telling of their past, specifically that of the Great Sin in which the [[Ultron]] was broken. During the Chinz-Rahl celebration, the Utwig [[High Proctor]] was to pass the Ultron to the Chief Groo; unfortunatley, he/she did not realise the Ultron was as heavy and slippery as it was, resulting in him/her accidentally dropping the Utwig to the ground, damaging it and causing it to cease functioning.

When [[The Captain]] encountered their ship in space, having previously attacked another of their kind, Chrupp was understandably somewhat nervous. When The Captain said that he no longer meant the Pkunk any harm, this prompted the captain of the Fury to turn to Chrupp and mention that due to the colours of The Captain's aura, he must be on the side of truth and light. Chrupp remained skeptical, and primed the ship's shields and guns, "just in case". The Fury's captain was somewhat disappointed by this.

The [[Thraddash]] [[Torch]] is the pride and joy of Thraddash Culture Nineteen. It is very small, but its maneuverability and its powerful afterburners make it a serious contender even against large ships.

===Primary===
The Torch's main weapon is the medium-range Mark-VI blaster. Its four-megawatt energy discharge is pretty weak, but it does have some surprising characteristics, such as resistance to the [[Earthling]] [[Cruiser]]'s point-defense lasers, and the [[Umgah]] [[Drone]]'s anti-matter cone.
In the right hands, it can be an incredibly effective weapon.

===Secondary===
The [[Reeunk]] Afterburner accelerates the Torch to incredible speeds and leaves in its wake a fiery trail of ionized plasma that, while still hot, can cripple enemy ships in seconds should one be following too closely. It is so useful in an offensive capacity that most Thraddash pilots consider it to be the primary weapon on the Torch.

The Reeunk Afterburner is a relatively recent addition to the Torch. Earlier revisions of this ship were armed only with the Mark-VI Blaster and therefore deemed too ineffective for combat by the [[Kzer-Za|Ur-Quan]]. Once they became [[Battle Thrall]]s, the Thraddash were ordered to "guard the rear" by staying in their home territory. Now that their ships have been improved, the Thraddash would love nothing more than to try them out against another race and thus prove their worth to the Ur-Quan.

==Tactical Overview==
The most popular tactic employed with this ship is to "cast a net" with the afterburners such that the enemy ship flies into it and takes damage. Against large capital ships, this is no problem, but against more maneuverable ships, luring them near a gravity well might be required first.

Skilled Torch pilots can easily goad AI [[Androsynth]] [[Guardian]]s into blazer mode with blaster fire, forcing them to head straight into the exhaust trails while the Torch outruns them. The afterburner is also good at frying the ZapSats of any [[Avatar]] that makes the mistake of chasing after it or flying towards it. Against the [[Earthling]] [[Cruiser]], the strategy is quite straightforward: close in quickly and pound incessantly it with the blaster. Point-defense laser is useless against it, and if you keep your distance you can dodge the return fire from the Cruiser quite easily.

The Torch is most useful against the Space Probes in single player. Wait for the Probe to get close, then activate the afterburner, the AI should cause it to follow resulting in it taking maximum damage and exploding. Using this technique, it's possible to get ally with the Thraddash early, and then by using their ships build up RU simply by hunting probes.

The AI allows the [[Ur-Quan]] [[Dreadnought]] to launch fighters against Torches, even though the afterburner destroys them as effectively as any point defense. Although the computer-controlled [[Orz]] [[Nemesis]] has the same weakness, the battle becomes more challenging after it has launched all the marines it can spare.

The old [[Pkunk]] seer [[Awkky Birdy]] claims to have a spiritual guide who goes by the name of '''Bosco'''. He was apparently responsible for bestowing a somewhat salacious dream upon the old seer, in which, whilst being rushed by a herd of aroused Pkunk females who all desire to mate with him, he saw a [[Clear Spindle]], a "[[Rosy Sphere|red orb]]", and a "[[Aqua Helix|blue twisty thing]]" all spinning around a "[[Ultron|pointy gold thing]]". Just before he passes out in a fit of ecstasy, for some reason he decides to scream out "[[Draconis|DRACONIS!]]".

This dream was infact a vision of the parts needed to repair the [[Utwig|Utwig's]] [[Ultron]], and was of much use to [[The Captain]] despite none of the Pkunk taking much notice of the ultron-related aspects of the dream, instead being rather envious of the bawdy pleasures the seer experienced. Little else is known about Bosco or what other wisdom he bestows on Awkky Birdy.

He proceeded to complain that the Pkunk should all be a bit more respectful of the dead, and leave them alone for a change.

He apparently informed the Pkunk that the various spirits had been so busy answering summons, pushing around glasses on Ouija boards and acting as guides to spiritual travellers, that they didn't have any time to themselves and weren't paticularly pleased about it. He proceeded to complain that the Pkunk should all be a bit more respectful of the dead, and leave them alone for a change.
