===Mineral values===<br />
These are the amounts of "resources" you get at the Starbase at Earth, per unit of minerals.<br />
<table border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0"><br />
<tr><th>Category</th><th>Value</th></tr><br />
<tr><td>Common </td><td>1</td><br />
<tr><td>Corrosive </td><td>2</td><br />
<tr><td>Base Metal </td><td>3</td><br />
<tr><td>Noble Gas </td><td>4</td><br />
<tr><td>Rare Earth </td><td>5</td><br />
<tr><td>Precious </td><td>6</td><br />
<tr><td>Radioactive</td><td>8</td><br />
<tr><td>Exotic </td><td>25</td><br />
</table><br />
<br />
<br />
===Mineral amounts===<br />
The number of deposits on the surface of a planet is randomly chosen from the range in the 'quantity' column of the deposit size table below.<br />
The amount of mineral units within one deposit is determined from the "quality" column in the deposit size table below, together with the size of the star which the planet orbits, and some randomness.<br />
<br />
Specifically, the quality is determined as follows. First an intermediate quality value is calculated by chosing a random number in the range 0-99, adding the quality modifier from the deposit size table times 10, as well as the quality modifier from the star size table times 10.<br />
If the intermediate quality value is less than 150, then the image for the deposit will be small; if it is 150 or higher, but no more than 225, then the image will be medium-sized; if it is 225 or higher, than the image will be large.<br />
<br />
The actual quality of the deposit is acquired from the intermediate quality value by dividing it by 10, and then adding 1.<br />
<br />
Deposit sizes:<br />
<table border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0"><br />
<tr><th>Description</th><th>Quantity</th><th>Quality</th></tr><br />
<tr><td>Trace </td><td>0-1</td><td>+0</td></tr><br />
<tr><td>Light </td><td>0-4</td><td>+0</td></tr><br />
<tr><td>Medium</td><td>0-4</td><td>+5</td></tr><br />
<tr><td>Heavy </td><td>0-4</td><td>+10</td></tr><br />
<tr><td>Huge </td><td>0-8</td><td>+10</td></tr><br />
</table><br />
Where the minerals table says "&times;2" or "&times;3", there will be multiple series of deposits. So for example a Carbide World will have as many Carbon deposits as the total value of a throw of 3 5-sided dice with numbers from 0 to 4.<br />

<tr><td>Dwarf </td><td>+0</td><br />
<tr><td>Giant </td><td>+5</td><br />
<tr><td>Super Giant</td><td>+10</td><br />

<div><br />
A base established by the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za Hierarchy after the subjugation of Earth. Due to the central role the humans had played in the Alliance of Free Stars, as well as their planet's abundance in natural resources and industrial capacity and the humans' demonstrated aptitude for tenacity and cunning, the Ur-Quan opted to leave a larger-than-usual garrison to keep watch over the enslaved humans. They left a force consisting of the two neighboring combat thrall races, the Spathi and the Ilwrath, to form an "Earthguard" garrison on Luna, Earth's moon.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, when the Kzer-Za disappeared to fight the Doctrinal Conflict, discipline broke down, and the Ilwrath, the leading forces of the Earthguard, soon left to join in the hunting of the Pkunk that had been dictated by Dogar and Kazon. Their remaining Spathi subordinates soon let their paranoia get the better of them, slowly migrating their base from Luna to Mars to Ganymede and so on, hoping to put distance between themselves and the humans so as to minimize the chance of having to fight an escaped rebel human force without backup. In order to prevent their human charges from learning about their cowardice, they carefully rigged an automated system to make the Luna base continue to appear active, constantly running the base's life-support systems, programming construction robots to move dirt and rocks around, and constantly broadcasting a Melnorme FunRom over transmission channels to simulate radio chatter.<br />
<br />
The ruse was successful, keeping the few humans on the Starbase intensely worried about the Earthguard until Captain Zelnick finally came ranalong in the Vindicator, proposing an alliance to resume resistance against the Kzer-Za. Intrigued but fearing the potential consequences of failure, the Starbase's Commander Hayes asked Zelnick to prove the power of his Precursor technology and his own prowess as a commander by removing the imminent Earthguard threat. Zelnick sent a team that duly investigated the Luna base and found it abandoned, scrapping and salvaging most of its useful equipment and returning to the Vindicator. Discovering there was no immediate threat from the Hierarchy, Hayes' mind was slightly put at ease, but he only put his full confidence in Zelnick and agreed to support Zelnick's New Alliance of Free Stars after the Vindicator later proved its worth in real combat by engaging and destroying a weakened Ilwrath Avenger that came to check on the Starbase.<br />

<br />
This Module can only be installed by the Chmmr after they have been freed from their slave shield. It incorporates the Utwig Bomb into the SIS hull to create a kamikaze doomsday device capable of destroying the Sa-Matra. The original bomb is said to destroy anything within at least 500 km, but the power of this amplified bomb is assumed to be far larger.<br />
<br />

<div><br />
One of many apparently useless Precursor relics obtained by the Druuge from the Utwig in exchange for the Ultron. The Utwig, using the Ultron's own power, predicted that in this storehouse of unidentifiable, unusable Precursor relics they had accumulated would be hidden the secret of changing and purifying the racial nature of the Druuge, and gave them these relics as a charitable act. The Druuge, angry at being cheated of their truly sought prize, the incredibly powerful Precursor bomb the Utwig had found, proceeded to unload as many of these relics on foolish travelers as they could.<br />
<br />
The Glowing Rod was a large, staff-shaped cylinder that constantly emitted a constant, flickering pattern of light from its entire surface. However, this light pattern has no particular special properties, and the device simply generates light by drawing on the current of a source of electrical current hidden in a secret compartment -- in this case, an ordinary set of batteries, probably put there by the Druuge. Though scientists cannot be certain, it seems probable that the Precursors only built the Rod as a toy or curiosity. The Druuge's claim that the Rod exhibits special properties when the phrase "Kyeee! Lykeee-lieee!" is pronounced is probably false.<br />

<div>Kyabetsu is the former homeworld of the noble Shofixti. Orbiting the star Delta Gorno, it was once a lush, earth-like planet with vast forests and tall mountains. The Shofixti built cities and mud-fortresses on its many continents, and lived in a feudal society until the Yehat arrived and lifted them technologically and culturally to the level of a starfaring species.<br />
<br />
When the Kzer-Za arrived and defeated the Alliance of Free Stars, the Shofixti, who were about to be enslaved, made the ultimate sacrifice. They used a divice identical to the Precursor explosive device identical to the Utwig Bomb to remove a large layer of their sun's surface, which sent streams of hot plasma outward. The partial nova destroyed hundreds of Hierarchy vessels but also struck their homeworld with devasting effects. As a result the Shofixti race was nearly extinct and Kyabetsu is a battered, airless planet devoid of any life.<br />
