Neptune resides near the outer edge of the solar system, and due to Pluto's highly eliptical orbit, it is officially both the eighth and ninth planet depending on where Pluto is along its orbital path. This arrangement has lead to a good deal of speculation about the possibility of a collision at some point in the future.
