Ceres Base, alternatively known also as Ceres Station, built in 2112 on the dwarf planet Ceres, in the Asteroid Belt, was the largest and most remote Human settlement prior to the Ur-Quan Slave War.
In either 2112 or 21151, the Chenjesu appeared at this installation, initiating the Human's first extraterrestrial contact, leading to Earth's participation in the Alliance of Free Stars in the war against the Ur-Quan Hierarchy, and Ceres Base's emergence as Earth's primary outpost in the Belt.
After the Chenjesu and Mmrnmhrm were defeated in 2134, the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za proceeded to methodically conquer the remaining Alliance races. Weeks later, Ceres Base was destroyed and Earth was soon enclosed in the Slave Shield.
