FunRoms are mentioned several times in Star Control II. The first reference is made by Fwiffo, stating that the alien recording being transmitted from the Moon Base, presumed at first to be an alert or mayday broadcast, was nothing more than a Melnorme FunRom called "Winky's Happy Night".
In another instance, Tanaka claims that his life is over, because in addition to his race being dead and his world being an airless rock, he has seen all of his FunRoms over a hundred times. This mood changes only when The Captain tells him that he has the Shofixti Maidens on board.
Another possible reference is made by "normal" Spathi captains, and refers to a "Cool Entertainment Product" involving a grand adventure through space etc., in effect being a reference to Star Control II itself. Some have suspected that this is a FunRom.
