should we make links to go upwards through menus of items (ie. make a link to "List of Races" from the "Humans" page)? it would make editing many pages easier since we no longer have to backtrack through several pages of blanked-out previews to get to the category we were at. -[[User:SamYeager|SamYeager]] 10:05, 28 Sep 2004 (CEST)

:I think the "Categories" concept suffices for this. Put for instance <nowiki>[[Category:Races]]</nowiki> on the bottom of a page to place it in a category. See [[Special:Categories]] for all categories so far.

Hey Serge - I don't mind playing whack-a-spambot, but my real life commitments make it difficult to stay on top of the recent surge in spambots. I'm not sure if the CAPTCHA extensions need to be updated or if there's another extension that could be implemented. the AllPages is screwed up. i think it's b/c "They" was not previously the first page. how does one fix it?
: Hi Fyzixfighter. Thanks for still whacking bots after all this time. If I can make this easier by installing some new extension, I'll be happy to do so. I'll look into options when I get the chance. — [[User:Svdb|SvdB]] ([[User talk:Svdb|talk]]) 21:43, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
:It may have something to do with the quotes. It looks like a bug in MediaWiki, the wiki software. I'll have to take a closer look one of these days.

::It looks like QuestyCaptcha is the module in the ConfirmEdit extension that is currently being implemented here. Based on the table [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit here], Questy is supposed to be highly effective until it is cracked - which is what likely has happened. A short-term solution (without any new extension) may be to change the questions and answers. Looking at the mediawiki page for ConfirmEdit, the Turnstile module is the only other one listed as being highly effective against spambots. That could be long-term possibility, but looks to be more involved to implement. I've seen another wiki also use [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:AntiSpoof AntiSpoof], which might prevent some of the similar sounding usernames the bots have been using, and [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:HoneyPot HoneyPot] for spam control. --[[User:Fyzixfighter|Fyzixfighter]] ([[User talk:Fyzixfighter|talk]]) 00:17, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

for the WantedPages, do we view pages that have just 1 link to them? it'd be a good way to find misspelled or misdirected links.
::: Thanks for that research. I've slightly changed the QuestyCaptcha questions now (just asking for the digits in reverse). I hope to be able to look into your other suggestions this weekend. [[User:Svdb|SvdB]] ([[User talk:Svdb|talk]]) 21:20, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
:I didn't write the wiki software. It's not a high priority for me to find out where in the code this is handled, and change it.
::Minor fix. See [[1 Link Pages]] from [[Special:MainPage|Main Page]] -[[User:SamYeager|SamYeager]] 10:05, 28 Sep 2004 (CEST)
:::I guess it will do as a temporary solution.

how is it the special pages are uneditable?
:Special pages are generated by the server

Are there plans to make the Ultronomicon into a media-rich wiki (or at least one with a few pictures)?
:Yes. And we have permission from TFB to use game images and sound in the wiki.
::Cool. Do you have a timeframe for when you want to start adding graphics? I'd be more than happy to assist, but file uploads are currently disabled. -[[User:Fadookie|Fadookie]]
:::Oh, I thought I had enabled that. It should work now. (not tested)

Spambots back

Spambots again

Hey Serge - I don't mind playing whack-a-spambot, but my real life commitments make it difficult to stay on top of the recent surge in spambots. It looks like QuestyCaptcha is the module in the ConfirmEdit extension that is currently being implemented here.
