Hyperspace is a dimension of seemingly infinite red emptiness. It is filled with jumping bright energy, but it has no native inhabitants.
Hyperspace is somewhat smaller than TrueSpace, home of many of the races of the Star Control Universe, and so is used by the inhabitants of TrueSpace as a means of faster travel.
Also known that it has a damn good background music, made by none other than Riku Nuottajärvi.
