:I don't know if this is really that widespread. On the UQM forums, only three people use a similar term for these: Captain Smithy and yourself use "fear ball" or a variation of it, and NECRO-99 uses "fear orbs." Can anyone else confirm if this is a widespread colloquial name? The edit I did was to try and match it up with the terminology used in the SC2 manual. It isn't unprecedented to included a colloquial name, [[The Flagship]] article mentions "SIS", but that initially started because of the internal code. If the colloquial term had a similar source then I think it'd be easier to include. But that's my two cents...anyone else?

::If the origin of the term can be loosely traced to Star Control canon, sure. However, if it's merely a term used by fans with no connection to the game (as opposed to SIS), I don't think that alone merits its inclusion in our encyclopedia. -[[User:Fadookie|Fadookie]] 01:40, 29 December 2005 (CET)

'Fear Ball' is a widespread colloquial term for the fully charged red form of the Melnorme primary weapon. Should this fact be included? -- Death 999
