| Near the end of the [[First War]], when the [[Hierarchy]] finally broke throught the [[Coreward Front]] in 2134, a new but unfortunately short-lived defensive line was drawn at Rigel. The [[Alliance]] was able to hold the star system, but at great cost to the [[Chenjesu]] forces, ultimately leading to their defeat. Prior to this, in 2123, [[Precursor]] text fragments were found at Rigel describing the "Appendages of Dawn", also known as the [[Ultron]]. This star system is also the location for the first contact between [[Human]]ity and the [[Zoq-Fot-Pik]].
