Private Hendryx was a member of the landing team sent to Zeta Draconis I to investigate the Aqua Helix. He was responsible for the recovery of the artifact. He decided to see what would happen to the shimmering light in the Aqua Helix's chamber if he were to tough the artifact. As soon as he touched it, all the mysterious light immediately ceased. After that, the lander team took the Helix back to the ship for study.
