Below is a table which lists the best ship counters for Player-vs-Player matches of Balance Mod. Skill and game knowledge varies between players, so this won't always work perfectly, but should serve as a useful set of guidelines most of the time. The table reads as follows:

  • Target: The ship for which counters are listed.
  • Hard Counter: A ship with high odds of destroying a given enemy when played correctly. It costs less than said enemy, yielding a score advantage when it wins.
  • Soft Counter: A ship which fights well against a given enemy relative to its cost, but is not fully reliable at destroying it.
  • Overwhelm: A ship which trounces a given enemy, but does not yield a score advantage due to its cost. Only some of the cheaper or easier match-ups are listed.
  • Stalemate: This match-up will result in a virtually endless draw and should be avoided.
