Template talk:Dubious
Just for future reference, would it be possible for editors who add this tag to an article to include on that article's talk page why and where the article is dubious. I think we all agree that this tag is useful, but we hate having to use it. Clarifying the dubious parts will help other editors improve the article and will reduce edit/revert wars of adding/removing this tag. Thanks. --Fyzixfighter 07:06, 20 Dec 2005 (CET)
- My replacement of "article" with "section" should be enough. So the authors would have to isolate the speculation and mark it with this tag. Valaggar 20:26, 2 April 2007 (CEST)
- The thing to remember though is that the goal is to not have any pages with a "dubious" tag. The primary purpose of the tag is for other editors to know that there is fan-fic material in the article that needs to be removed. It only secondarily serves to warn reader of speculative material. Although SvdB added another "dubious begin" tag, alternatively we could have added a field to the "dubious" tag for whether it applies to a page, section, paragraph, etc. Even with a section specific tag, editors should still put on the talk page which parts (words, sentences, etc) are dubious, so others can help clear the fan-fic. --Fyzixfighter 00:52, 3 April 2007 (CEST)
