I noticed ceres base was said to be inside the asteroid belt. It's noteworthy that at the begining of super metroid is ceres station, which is also in the asteroid belt. I think the possible reference deserves a mention.
- I think this is more a coincidence than a reference. Super Metroid came out in 1994. Star Control I, where the first SC Ceres reference appears, was made in 1990. And Star Control II came out in 1992, two years before Super Metroid. So, it's a interesting bit of trivia , but I doubt it's an actual reference worth mention in the article (unless the SM designers were avid star control fans). --Fyzixfighter 08:52, 18 Dec 2005 (CET)
- Heh, I thought it was the other way around. Although to me, wether SM was referencing SC2 or SC2 was referencing SM it's still pretty cool.
- Well, Ceres is the name of the first asteroid to be discovered, and it's the largest one (a quarter to a third of the total mass of the asteroid belt), so it's more a coincidence with real life. Did you notice they mention Mars in multiple games, too? ;-) --Gond
