Algol

Outside the game

Algol is, in reality, a star in the constellation Persei. It was one of the first recorded variable stars; its magnitude cycles once about every 68 hours. Perhaps due to its odd visual appearance, its name comes from the Arabic Arabic الغول al-ghūl, meaning "the ghoul."
