Nnngn is something that the Arilou "seek to trap, but they dart and leap". The captain is said to not be solid enough to catch them.
Nnngns are described somewhat like a worm. It is never made clear exactly what they are, since the Arilou changes the subject.
The Arilou state that it only applies to their universe.
