Corridor Nine was the 'black ops' arm of the original Star Control. It was responsible for many covert operations during the First War, the most significant of which involved scouting missions in Androsynth space. Here, Corridor Nine identified a Precursor colony on the planet Vela I, later known as Unzervalt. The science mission dispatched by Corridor Nine to Unzervalt was stranded on the planet, where they subsisted for nearly twenty years. They succeeded in fabricating a Precursor vessel commonly called the SIS, which was commanded by Captain Zelnick in the War of Liberation that culminated in the destruction of the Sa-Matra.
