Hyper-Radar

Hyper-Radar is a device serving the same function in HyperSpace that normal radar has in TrueSpace. Whether the physical processes behind the two are comparable is unknown.

This device is mentioned in the Star Control II manual as a historical note. This note seems to indicate that it is a standard piece of technology on most HyperSpace-capable ships. The exact quote is "The Tobermoon limped through space for almost a week before Hyper-Radar reconnaissance located a hospitable planet orbiting the dwarf star Vela."
