A HyperWave Caster is a device capable of communicating at great distances via hyperspace. The power requirements of such a device means they are usually found only on planets, but the dynamos of the SIS could also power one.

A very powerful HyperWave Caster can also penetrate an Ur-Quan Kzer-Za slave shield.
