Podship
The Mycon Podship is a large medium speed, slow turning ship. It's primary weapon is a slow moving long-range homing plasma burst. It's damage decreases the longer the plasma has been in flight (as the plasma disperses). At short range, damage is very high. At long range, damage is very low. Enemy fire that strikes the plasma disperses it and reduces it's damage potential.
The secondary ability of the podship is to regrow it's own crew. It is piloted by talking fungi after all!
One other notable feature of the podship is it's ability to commit suicide by ramming it's own plasma bursts. Due to the plasma'a low speed, plasma launched in the direction of travel while the ship is at speed stand a good chance of being "over-run" by the ship itself. Due to the high damage of the fresh plasma, this is often fatal. Take extra care when using a gravity whip manuver.
Certain other highly manuverable ships can also cause the plasma to strike the podship that launched it.
