Spathi

The Spathi are a cowardly race of "meta-mollusks" as described by Captain Fwiffo. Their membership in the Ur-Quan Hierarchy is a very dubious one, having been given the wrong straw, so to speak, by the mischievous Umgah. They live in constant fear of an unproved phantom beyond the reaches of their most powerful sensors, called the Ultimate Evil.

They evolved on the lone planet Epsilon Gruis I (their name for the star is Yuffo and the planet, Spathiwa). Recently, their homeplanet has been beleaguered by a race of ravenous creatures called the Evil Ones who enjoy eating Spathi, causing the good majority of Spathi to take refuge on their own moon.

In combat their Eluder ships are quite useful, being highly maneuverable and able to run circles around even the more powerful Ur-Quan and Kohr-Ah ships.
