Another speculated reference that should be considered if the article stays is that set of yahoo SBC banner ads that looked like had the Spathi Eluder on them. Someone else remembers those, right? Relevance and Reliability[edit]

I'm a little leery of this article for two reasons: relevance and reliability. I've never like the "Pop Culture references to..." articles on wikipedia mainly because they inevitably descend into trivia minutia. But I could see the argument that this is interesting for our little niche group of star control fans. However, the second reason looms much larger. Namely, how do we confirm that these are actual references to SC? Certainly the first is true, since TFB also made that game. I would assume we could also throw in blatant references like those angry flower comics (but I'm not certain how well-known that comic is). The others are speculation and should be labeled as such - we do something similar on Influences and References. If we are going to keep the speculative references, we should probably have a link to the forum thread where these have been proposed. Hopefully this doesn't descend into a catalog of fringy pet theories.
