Actually the reason the VUX hate humans is because upon the first meeting between the two races, the human captain(forgot his name) made a remark about how UGLY he thought the VUX was, and his crew laughed. The VUX, being obsessive metrosexuals, took enough offense to this to hate all humans forever. All you have to do to figure this out is encounter a VUX intruder, converse, and keep asking them why they hate humans. I don't know why you didn't figure this out.

You're mixing some things up. You start out with the "knowledge" that the insult is the reason the VUX hate humans. The Starbase Commander tells you, and so does the game manual. After you keep apologising the VUX finally reveal the truth:

AIEEE! Human! You have hounded and hounded and hounded us with your pitiful apologies! It's driving us crazy! STOP! Please STOP! We give up. We accept! We accept! We will no longer hold Rand's insult against your species. You are forgiven for all eternity, just stop apologizing! But now you have forced us to reveal our REAL reason for hating you humans an embarrassing reason with no acceptable justification, but nonetheless undeniable! Human! You are SOOO ugly, SOOO hideous to us that we will NEVER be able to find peace with your species! Whenever we see your kind, we just want to kick you!... stomp on you!... squish you!... ...vaporize your ugly faces from the entire universe! We know its unreasonable! We know that you had no choice about how you look! We know that it is cruel fate that the Creator made you appear like putrid excretion but WE JUST CAN'T HANDLE IT!

VUX neck

From the quote:

Now if you don't mind, stop nodding your head like that. We VUX do not share this range of motion and it appears as though your neck is broken and you are a jabbering corpse. Ugh.

This indicates that they 'have' neck which is fixed in position (therefore, neck is not broken), while captain's head nods, and this appears to VUX, as if human's neck is broken.

That is one interpretation, but it is not the only interpretation - at best the statement is ambiguous. Look at it the other way around: Can the sentence still make sense if the VUX don't have necks? I would argue that it can. If they were to say "Our necks do not share...", then it would be much more definite. --Fyzixfighter 19:23, 21 January 2009 (CET)

But why won't they say "as though your head is broken"? If they didn't have necks, they wouldn't mention them, as they would perfectly know that necks are not rigid. They have met Yehat before, and birds' necks are flexible. But if they had rigid necks and say Captain about "neck is broken"", this clearly shows their bigoted nature and makes sence. Plus, for them saying "Our necks do not share" would be again against their bigotry, as they are not interested in serious discussions with Captain, and simply want to insult Captain with what they see different to them and with what they associate Captain's flexible human neck. Come on, Val - simmer down. There is no need to get rude, hostile and vulgar. Indeed, Masterius kind of reminds me of you when you first came on to the scene with the Linch-Nas-Ploh and Zoq-Fot-Pik stuff.

Anyways, @ Masterius, I understand your reasoning and it does make sense. However, that VUX have necks cannot be proven by contradiction, i.e. the quote can still make sense if the VUX didn't have necks. There are assumptions that are inherent in both interpretations. Thus, without further enlightenment from the creators, the logical compromise is to let the text also be ambiguous. --Fyzixfighter 23:09, 23 January 2009 (CET)
