The Pkunk/Yehat connection is *far* more than "theoretical" -- it is pretty clearly shown to be actual, from both the Pkunk and the Yehat side, especially given the events at the end of the Yehat Civil War. Someone's been going just from information you get when you *start* playing the game.

Assertion 1: Pkunk/Yehat beak rubbery at birth. Assertion 2: Yehat stretch beak backwards ritually at very young age. Conclusion: Head differances are explainable. Assertion 1: Pkunk/Yehat wings are fingers with flaps of skin between them. Assertion 2: Pkunk remove flaps of skin. Conclusion: Hand differances are explainable. Combined conclusion: Yehat and Pkunk physical differances are direct result of differing cultures. [[User:Daktaklakpak|Daktaklakpak]] 03:03, 22 February 2007 (CET)

:I take it you are referring to the line "While not completely bird-like they do share a superficial resemblance to the Pkunk." I think the statement on the biological relationship could be a stronger - I'll see what I can do on that. However, why the differences exist is completely unknown. We don't know if the beaks are rubbery at birth or if the Yehat do have ritual beak-bending as kids or if the Pkunk remove the flaps of skin. We have just as much reason to think that it may be divergent evolution, or that only a select few proto-yehat with a distinctive genetic makeup felt the mystical yearnings and this initial genetic difference caused the different morphologies, or...whatever else one could imagine. Nice food for thought and certainly an interesting topic, but unfortunately without a basis in the canon we can't include it. --[[User:Fyzixfighter|Fyzixfighter]] 05:23, 22 February 2007 (CET)

I removed the part that said some Yehat have fingers at the end of there wings. The one on the left is the same as the one of the right, the end of his wings are behind the terminal.

: Hrm, let's try this... Do you see the wing ribs/fingers on the right yehat's elbow? On the left yehat, they sprout from his wrist.

In the game, if you wait long enough and follow the kohr-ah trail of devastation you can see the geography of each alien species homeworld. Druuge homeworld for example is quite barren and has no oceans.

The Yehat homeworld on the other hand is covered almost entirely by water with only a few tiny islands, so it's more than likely that they can fly. --Dingus 21:46, 14 Oct 2004 (CEST)

The original manual mentioned that yehat individuals could surround themsleves with protective force fields, if I remember right.

I've looked at the SC2 manual, the SC2 hints book, and the SC1 manual, and haven't been able to find such a thing. - SvdB 14:19, 27 Jun 2005 (CEST)

I'd just like to butt in for a moment and point out the humongous irony in the Yehat respect for humans, given the Arilou. --Kizor

What irony? The Arilou, if anything, respect Humans even more than the Yehat -- they don't give a damn about *any* other race but the Humans, whom they seem to care a hell of a lot about.
I think he's suggesting that the Arilou had some involvement in helping Humanity to the stars, either directly or through their manipulations. MasterGrazzt 12:19, 1 June 2006 (CEST)

Just a question i've been pondering: do the Yehat have legs? the pics show no legs.

I assume they have taloned feet, because they mention perches, in the same way I assume the Spathi have shells, due to them mentioning they are clam-like. MasterGrazzt 09:18, 4 June 2006 (CEST)

I've changed the language to only include the biological and not spiritual relationship between the two races. I've also included the sources (ie the Pkunk, the Yehat and the Melnorme) if anyone wants to look for the references. --Fyzixfighter 06:21, 2 February 2006 (CET)

I take it you are referring to the line "While not completely bird-like they do share a superficial resemblance to the Pkunk." I think the statement on the biological relationship could be a stronger - I'll see what I can do on that. However, why the differences exist is completely unknown. We don't know if the beaks are rubbery at birth or if the Yehat do have ritual beak-bending as kids or if the Pkunk remove the flaps of skin.
