- It's to make it easy to insert templates into pages like the style guide. I'd already been using it as a user template, but it was getting a little tedius to type {{subst:User:Phoenix/template|RaceBox}}. Instead, I'd rather type {{subst:template|RaceBox}}, or whatever it is, to get a template with the {{}} characters enveloping a clickable Wikilink to the template itself. --Phoenix (t) 00:04, 11 Oct 2005 (CEST)
