It's much easier to peruse the changes made to a particular page if there's a comment describing what particular actions have been performed or if there was major revisional work done. From fixing a transposed letter to rewriting a full page, it's important not only to comment for others but also to comment for yourself when you look at the page two-and-a-half weeks later and forget why you added a link in that one sentence.

Even editors need to be edited. If you make a very minor change such as a spelling or grammatical or even a prepositional or antecedent correction and nothing else, you should put a check in the "This is a minor edit" checkbox just below the comment section. When a page is edited several times just to fix semantical issues, it becomes very complex to browse through the revision history. By applying "minor" edits that can be filtered out, editing is streamlined.

Please read this page in its entirety before editing an Ultronomicon article.

As the Ultronomicon is still young, we don't yet have our own set of documents on style and content.

So for the moment we're pretty much following the Wikipedia conventions.

You can find more about those here:

So far, a number of issues keep coming up while people are editing the Ultronomicon. While the above links contain all the relevant information, these issues occur often enough and are important enough to be explicitely mentioned here.

How to Edit

Be bold when editing

If you have a problem with (part of) a page, by all means edit it. No one "owns" a page.

For more information see Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages.

Signing off on Talk pages

It is helpful when people can quickly see who wrote what on Talk pages. To this end, place '~~~~' at the end of your message; it will be replaced by your name and the current date and time.

Comment, comment, comment!

"Minor" Editing Checkbox

Even editors need to be edited. If you make a very minor change such as a spelling or grammatical or even a prepositional or antecedent correction and nothing else, you should put a check in the "This is a minor edit" checkbox just below the comment section. When a page is edited several times just to fix semantical issues, it becomes very complex to browse through the revision history. By applying "minor" edits that can be filtered out, editing is streamlined.
