Please read this page in its entirety before editing an Ultronomicon article.

As the Ultronomicon is still young, we only have a basic document on style and content at Ultronomicon:Manual of Style. Apart from items listed in this manual, we're pretty much following the Wikipedia conventions.

You can find more about those here:

So far, a number of issues keep coming up while people are editing the Ultronomicon. While the above links contain all the relevant information, these issues occur often enough and are important enough to be explicitly mentioned here.

How to Edit[edit]

Be bold when editing[edit]

If you have a problem with (part of) a page, by all means edit it. No one "owns" a page.

For more information see Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages.

Signing off on Talk pages[edit]

It is helpful when people can quickly see who wrote what on Talk pages. To this end, place '~~~~' at the end of your message; it will be replaced by your name and the current date and time.

Fill in the summary field[edit]

By filling in the summary field, you will make the page history and Special:Recentchanges page easier to use. Do this even for small changes, as an empty summary requires the reader to look at the actual changes to see what changed.

Mark minor edits as such[edit]

When you make only a very minor change such as a spelling or grammar correction, you should check the "This is a minor edit" checkbox. Minor edits can be filtered from the page history or Special:Recentchanges page, making browsing through these significantly easier.

Use descriptive names for uploaded files[edit]

By using descriptive names for the names of the uploaded files, it will be more obvious what the image or sound is about, and it prevents name clashes with past and future files. File names can't be changed once uploaded, so name the file appropriately before uploading.
