Template talk:ModuleBox
Would anyone be terribly heartbroken if I deleted this? It doesn't really add anything to the images, all of which already have the name and RU cost on them. I've tried to think about other information that can be quickly summarized and given with this type of template, but I can't come up with anything hence the proposal for deletion. Thoughts? --Fyzixfighter 02:10, 20 December 2007 (CET)
Another question is whether we want to have these details tabulated or in the images. If we want them tabulated, we'd have to modify the images. But the images do a fine job.
I guess it's just the ships which one can build in the shipyard which could also use an RU cost label. I don't remember seeing a note anywhere that this cost is simply related to the melee value. But if there is one or there will be one, then I guess I can't think of anywhere else we could use this either (maybe it's In-game Starbase services which could use this information?). --Zeracles 14:40, 20 December 2007 (CET)
- There is a table for the ship RU cost over at Table of ship values - I think this is what you're talking about in terms of the ship costs. The List of Flagship Modules does have all the RU costs together, though it is a bit hard to read (ie no table). There was talk about merging all the module pages into that list - originally I was against it, but now I'm wondering if it might be useful to at least redo that list so that it looks like some of wikipedia's "List of episodes of <TV show>" with the lovely tables and such. --Fyzixfighter 16:21, 20 December 2007 (CET)
- Yes, that's what I meant - I see. A table would make the List of Flagship Modules easier to read. Like wiki's lists . . . you mean like this one? That would be cool (it's not a table, but my favourite wiki page about TV is this one heh). Another candidate for this style might be the List of ships, following from this discussion. Although, depending on what it eventually contained, it might be fitting to have a separate page for it like ``Table of ship properties" or something, since it was deemed best to remove the crew information (except half the reason for this exclusion seems to have been that the brackets looked awkward, in a table it would look okay, methinks). Still, such a table would further distinguish this list from the corresponding category, an issue which you've brought up. The individual ship pages have some of the properties which could contribute, but I don't see a table which compares them all at once anywhere. --Zeracles 17:13, 21 December 2007 (CET)
- Yes, that's what I had in mind. I might have some time in the next few weeks as I'm home for the holidays. I'll see if I can do something similar for the list of ships. The table for ship properties sounds like a good idea - I know the data is accessible from the ship files (I know the question has come up more than once on the forum). I'd say go for it. --Fyzixfighter 01:03, 23 December 2007 (CET)
