It is likely that the Umgah posed as this genocidal character in order to scare the Spathi stiff, just to see their reactions to their imminent and wholly nonexistant doom. Given the Umgah's propensity for jokes and the Spathi's legendary cowardice and gullibility, it is very likely the joke had hilarious results by human standards; knowing the Umgah's standards, they were more than likely amused to no end.

Killmaster 18 is a fictional character devised by the Umgah with the sole intent of terrifying the Spathi using the former's HyperWave Caster. Other similar Umgah pranks played with the help of the Caster include the Grand Master Planet Eaters and Jud the Ineffable Vug (the Spathi claim not to have fallen for the latter prank, although this is doubtful, given their cowardly nature).
