Finally the whole fleet withdrew to Spathiwa except the StarRunner, which became the de facto base of the Earthguard, eventually crewed and captained only by the hapless Fwiffo. Discovered and acquired by the New Alliance of Free Stars in the Second War and recrewed by Starbase personnel under Fwiffo's direction, it and its captain served with distinction as part of Captain Zelnick's personal fleet under the Vindicator.
